BREAKING: PDP Splits: Seven Governors, Oyinlola, Atiku, Baraje, Others Form New Faction (PHOTOS)

Nigeria’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party has finally officially split into at least two factions.

A new faction, consisting of seven of the party’s 23 governors has announced that it has taken over the party.

At a press briefing in Abuja, Abubakar Kawu Baraje, a former acting National Chairman of the PDP, was announced as the leader of the new faction of the party.

The press briefing was attended by at least seven governors including those of Kano, Sokoto, Rivers, Jigawa, Kwara, Adamawa, and Niger.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was also at the press briefing. A former Osun State Governor and National Secretary of the PDP, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, was announced as the National Secretary of the new PDP faction.

The party leaders said they took the decision to salvage the PDP from those who have hijacked it.

Commercial Motorcyclists Stage Protests Again In Ikorodu

Commercial motorcyclists, popularly called ‘okada riders’ in Sabo area of Ikorodu, Lagos today embarked on yet another protest against the policeman who shot and killed their colleague.

According to witnesses, the fracas began when the motorcyclists went to Sabo and burnt tyres to prevent movement of motorists and other road users.

Policemen attached to Shagamu Road Police Division had to scurry for safety when the irate motorcyclists started causing problems.

It took the intervention of members of the Vigilante Group of Ikorodu, VGI, popularly known around the area as ‘Onyabo’ to ensure sanity was restored to the ever-busy road.

Proprietor of the vigilante group who spoke to PM News, Chief Kamorudeen Bombata, said that he was very unhappy with the recent turn of events as the motorcyclists had been asked to allow the law take its due course.

He further noted that the Policemen did not try too hard to stop the okada riders because it may end up in a similar fashion as the recent killing of one of them.

“I was at Imota for their Oro Day celebration when I received a call that motorcyclists were on rampage again at Sabo. I had to take permission from the paramount ruler to salvage the situation since I learnt that policemen did no’t want to get too involved.

“I’m not happy with this recent development because the okada riders and their leaders have been called to order after the killing of one of them. We had to wade in because we work with the king and we are not afraid of dealing with any criminal” he said.

The Chairman of the okada riders in the area, Kayode Jimoh, however refused to take responsibility for the recent attack on policemen as he claimed that the act was perpetrated by his counterparts from Ikorodu North LGA.

“I was in the house when the DPO of Shagamu Road Police Division called to inform me that my people had started making trouble again but I denied it because all our boys have been working here at Ojubodean Ladega and its environs.

“The fire was set up by boys from the other side, Ikorodu North, it has nothing to do with our boys here, whatsoever” said the man popularly called Jendor.

The incident crippled activities in the area as residents, market men and women, motorists went into hiding for fear of being hit by stray bullets if it turns into an awry situation.

22-Year-Old Female UNILAG Student Kidnapped And Raped By 3 Friends

22-year-old female student of the University of Lagos, Tolulope Titiloye, who was kidnapped and raped by three friends, who later posted her nude photos on the social media, is now in court to get justice.

Three friends – Bashorun Babajide, Aje Olumayowa, and Babajide Ajayi – had molested her, took photos of her without clothes and threatened to share the photos if she exposed them. Tolulope had kept quiet about the sad incident but trouble started when her family members saw her nude photos on the internet.
Within few days of the upload, the nude photographs went viral on social media, exposing Tolulope to ridicule and shame.

Consequently, the three bad guys were rounded up and arrested. They have been arraigned before the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, for kidnapping and raping.

According to police, after assaulting her, Babajide, Mayowa and Ajayi also attempted to murder Tolulope on the day of the incident in April, 2013.

Hence, they were arraigned for kidnap, rape, assault, battery, unlawful detention and attempted murder. When the charges were read to them, the three friends pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate S.K Matepo granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each and adjourned the case till October 2 for hearing.

Female Passenger Causes Panic Aboard Aero Flight Yesterday

Barely one week after a teenage boy, Daniel Ohikena caused a scare when he stowed away on an Arik Air plane from Benin to Lagos, another woman took over last Friday.
Passengers aboard an Aero Contractors aircraft scheduled to take-off from Lagos to Benin were Friday thrown into confusion as one of the female passengers started screaming on top of her voice that she was no longer travelling.
She was initially ignored by members of cabin crew and passengers alike but when she continued screaming, her persistence led to panic and suspicion among the passengers.

Vanguard reports her strange behavior led to the delay of the Benin- bound aircraft for two hours as all the passengers were asked to disembark while the plane was screened again.
All the checked-in luggage were also off-loaded for proper screening by both Aero and Aviation Security, AVSEC, of the Federal Airports authority of Nigeria, FAAN.

But despite the re-screening of the already checked in passengers and their luggage, nothing suspicious was found on board.
According to an eye witness:

All passengers were already onboard and the pilot was preparing to take off before the woman started the strange behaviour. At first, no one took her seriously, but when the shouting and soliloquy continued, the passengers became apprehensive and ordered the pilot to abort the flight.
The situation was not funny at all. In fact, the woman was speaking in a language which no one understood. But I can tell you authoritatively that all the passengers have been taken to Benin with the same aircraft and they landed in the airport safely.
This was not the first time such an incident would be happening. In fact, it is common among first time travellers but no one knows the motive behind this act. However, I believe the security agents will do their work and reveal what led to the strange behaviour.”

In BBA House
The experience was awesome.Though it was challenging, God really saw me through. It is something everybody should look forward to participating in. I don’t believe I was cheated during the grand finale. Housemates from West Africa were not only united but, we dominated the House. Whoever won the show really deserved to win. For me and Melvin, having made it to the finals, we are equally winners in our own rights. At least, we brought something home to show for our efforts.

I did not made love in the House. I had a relationship with Angelo Collins but we did not made love. I loved him and I still love him. I am a blunt person and very real. I don’t feel happy about it because this is the first time, I represented the country in any continental competition. But the fact remains that if you didn’t go for it, you wouldn’t know how it’s in the House. I wasn’t there with my cell phone to be able to communicate with the outside world. I was just there alone. I’m sorry for embarrassing my country. I didn’t do it intentionally. My participation in the show was not to embarrass my country. I am a proud Nigerian.

A soldier or maybe a fake soldier hit his body against mine at Abule Egba today. he then call me back and ask me if i was blind, i told him i didn't know i hit him and i apologize. he told me something fell off from what his Oga sent him, i search the floor there is nothing there, he said i should cross the road and i did, i don't want to disobey him. i don't want a situation whereby he will start beating me and even tell me to sleep in the gutter, this is Nigeria, no one will near us, they will just pity me from distance, some women may start crying from a far too but that wont change anything. i have seen it happened several times in lagos. soldier just beat the guy and later carried him away. no one could intervene.


as we crossed to the other side of the road, he told me to keep walking in front of him, we walked toward SUPER bus-top by KATANGOWA MARKET. he then odered me to stop and we waited for a commercial bus going to IYANA IPAJA and IKEJA. we later entered a bus, after 5 mins of the journey, i stylishly call a friend whose's dad is also a soldier, i spoke with the guy and told him what happened, i told him to give the phone to his dad so he can speak to the soldier, I spoke with his dad and he told me to give the phone to the soldier (we were still in the bus going to ikeja) my dad friend was speaking to the soldier and the soldier hung up the call and switched my phone off, he ordered me to give my iPhone to him as well and i oblige, people in the bus started staring and there was an old woman signaling to me at the back sit to beg the soldier, i was begging him and he land me a heavy slap.

He later said we should go to MUSHIN maybe he can buy the stuff there. from OSHODI he called a bike man beside enterprise bank in a small filling station there, he spoke to the guy and the guy agreed to take us. (before we got to the filling station, i saw RRS police van and 5 policemen stationed along the road, i wanted to tell them to help me, but i remember what happened about 2 years ago when some policemen arrest me after showing them my work ID. i tried to call another policeman we met along the road to help me and he told me i am silly, he said i should settle my scores with those policemen and i should not call him) 

The bike man carried us, we passed ilupeju, onipanu, jibowu, yaba and sabo. after few minutes ride from SABO he ordered the bike man to stop, he gave me 200 to buy him recharge card that he wants to call someone who was flashing him (someone was actually flashing him) he pointed to a recharge card vendor across the express, i told him i cant go there that he should use my nokia torch light phone or my iPhone because i have credit in them both. he kicked me in the stomach before i could say jack he jumped on the bike and they zoomed off. i run after the bike and could not catch up.

Before he ran away with my phones, i had been capturing him when we alighted at OSHODI-OKE. he didnt know i am still having a blackberry in my pocket. thanks to God the blackberry didnt ring througout that time. i was even wondering why it didnt ring because its my hotline. i videoed him 3 times and i add to hide the phone at the back of bottled water bottle i bought along the road. the videos are here with me now. i need help about it, i want the video to go viral, i want the guy/thief to be seen throughout where internet spans. I called my 2 phones immediately after he ran with the bike man, the nokia phone was off but the iPhone was still on. i text him and let him know that i videoed him, i threatened him that i will post the videos online and what happened to the police offer who asked for a bribed early this month will happen to him. he didnt call back or text back. i told him to meet me at sabo for negotiation but he didnt turn up. 

please i need help, even i can retrive my phone i want to disgrace the man, i will love to see him jailed or killed. i wont even pity him at all.

15-Year-Old Girl In Kaduna Kidnapped, Forced To Take Part In Muslim Rituals And Marry Bus Driver

Madam Jessy Ukeje, a 77-year-old grandmother from Eluoma Uzuakoli in Bende Local government area of Abia State, is in pains. So also is her daughter, Joy Ihedinma Ukeje.

Mama Jessy’s granddaughter, (Joy’s daughter) Rita Chinedu Ukeje, 15, was allegedly abducted by Islamic fundamentalists and given out in marriage to one of their own. Since then, the family has been in untold distress.

Now, Mrs. Ukeje is calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to help rescue the girl from the clutches of her abductors.

Ukeje said her granddaughter was given out in marriage by a top official of Zaria City Local Government area, without the consent of her family.
Rita, an SS 3 student of Top Spring Secondary School, Zaria, Kaduna State, was abducted by a commercial bus driver, called Usman, who held her captive in his home, denying her the chance of sitting for the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) she had enrolled for.
Few weeks later, she stated, the council chief, who took her to his home and promised to make her available for settlement with the family, allegedly gave her out in marriage to Usman.

The incident happened in Damagaji area of Zaria in Kaduna State, even as every effort made by the family to rescue the teenage girl from the clutches of her abductors have met with stiff resistance from the kidnappers.

Mama Jessy, who could not hold back tears while narrating the abduction of the girl to Daily Sun in her house in Eluoma Uzuakoli, alleged further that the girl’s abductors are after Rita’s mother, Joy Ihedinma Ukeje, for insisting that Rita must be sent back to her.

She alleged that they had been sending assassins to her, forcing her to quickly run back to Uzuakoli from Zaria after several attempts on her life.

“If they wanted to marry my granddaughter, both tradition and religion demand that they should come home and marry her according to Igbo tradition and customs. But they abducted her, took her into captivity after undergoing their Muslim rituals of bathing and feeding her with concoction as a way of turning her into a Muslim. Then, they gave her to somebody to marry without the consent and knowledge of her parents. This is certainly against religion and against tradition,” she said.

Rita’s mum, Mrs. Joy Ihedinma Ukeje, 37, said the incident happened one Friday in April when she came back from the market and discovered that her daughter was not at home.

“I wanted her to bring me some money to buy water and firewood which we would use for the next days business, but I did not see her at home. I called her phone and one Usman picked it and told me that they were in Zaria city, the traditional abode of the Hausa, in the house of the man that turns people into Muslims. I was shocked and wondered what they had gone to do there.

“By 12 midnight, they brought her back in their vehicle and I rushed out, looked into the vehicle and saw that they had covered her with their Muslims clothing. My elder sister asked Usman whether he would marry her, having dressed her that way and Usman said no. Then they left without Rita. We questioned Rita on why she did not tell us about what she was doing, but she kept crying. By the time I came back the following day, she had disappeared.

“I called her phone and she said she was coming, but she never came and I knew that she was under some influence. I was told that even if I took her back to Uzuakoli, she would still find her way back to meet Usman. I called Usman and asked him to bring back my daughter and he told me that I was stupid. I went and reported the matter to the police. They got him arrested and brought Rita to the police station.

“When the police eventually brought her out, she said she did not know me, my sister, my aunty and all our relations. She said the only person she knew was Usman and his people. We went to the police station by 9 am and left by 10 pm because I said I would not leave my child for them.

“When I insisted that they must give me my daughter, they invited a top official of Zaria City council and some Christians leader. They told the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the area to take the girl to his house, but he said he was going to bring a vehicle and he disappeared. The council chief said I should allow him to keep Rita, that he would produce her when the matter would be settled and my daughter would be given back to me. I agreed, trusting him as a public servant. But he did not bring out my daughter.

“Other Igbo CAN members met with the Chairman of the council in Sabon Gari and told him to tell the Zaria City council official to bring the girl to them. But the chairman said the girl was not with alleged council chief.

“I was in the village where I fled to due to their incessant harassment when my aunty called me and informed me that the chairman had given out my daughter in marriage to Usman. Since then, I have not seen my daughter, and when I called the council official to bring back my daughter, he said I was an idiot.

“I am appealing to the relevant authorities and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to rescue my daughter from her abductors. It is unfair that someone’s daughter would be given out in marriage without the knowledge of the parents in the name of religion. They have been sending assassins after me for insisting that they must bring back my child. I no longer sleep in the house.

“Now, they have changed her phone number and I can no longer communicate with her. This is what they do to young Christian girls from the South who reside in some parts of the north.

“I confronted one Malam Abdulahi, a man I learnt usually turns other people’s daughters to Muslims, using charms and concoctions, before giving them out in marriage, and he boasted that he had done it to over one thousand people. He said he couldn’t understand why I was proving stubborn. He said I was lucky that I even saw my daughter, and that I was only wasting my time, as my efforts would not yield any fruit.

“The day we got to the police station, if Usman went out, my daughter would be crying, ‘mummy, please help me so that what these people did to me would clear from my eyes. But immediately they stepped in, she would clean her eyes and tell everyone that she did not know me. Before, she used to call me on phone, telling me to put her in prayers. But for some time now, she has not called me and I am worried on what should be her state now. 

How 10-Year-Old Boy Was Lured And Used For Rituals

Niger State Police Command on Wednesday arrested three persons for allegedly beheading a 10-year-old boy in Amale Village in Paiko Local Government Area of the state for rituals.

It was gathered that one Salleh Ibrahim lured the victim and took him from Amale to two of his accomplices, Usman Sarki, and Dantala Doma.

During police interrogation, Sarki confessed that he was contracted to bring the boy’s head by one Gajere who was on the run for money-making ritual.
He said he found the boy along Amale road. “I asked him where was going, he said he was going to his house. I offered to help him. So I took him on my bike to Sarki’s house. “Sarki and I later took him to Doma’s house where he wasbeheaded with a cutlass.

During investigation, the severed head of the boy was found in Salleh’s house After the discovery of the head in Salleh’s house, the suspect took the police to an area near river Erena in Shiroro Local Government Area of the state and that’s where the headless body of the boy was found buried in a shallow grave.

Salleh later took the police to the residence of the other two accomplices.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Richard Oguche, said investigation into the matter had commenced, adding that the suspects would be arraigned in court at the conclusion of the investigation.

He said the command had directed all police out posts within Kaffin-koro division and the Divisional Police Officer in Kaffin-koro to reach out to the community leaders in the area to know if there was any reported case of a missing child but no such report had been received.

He called on parents to always monitor the movement of their children so as not to fall into the hands of ritual killers.

Today, I thought of many things I would love to have as birthday gifts and the many dreams I am still pursuing. In all of this I'm not losing sight of the fact that if not for God I might have ended up on the street like the many kids and young adults begging for food and some prostituting to make ends meet. If we know the circumstances that force some of these people on the street, we would spare a thought for them. I am where I am today purely by the grace of God and the grace of people who believed in me from the word go.


Recently, I was at the Boys Reform Home, Oregun, Lagos, the discussion I had with the principal Mr. Kotun and much later with the Special Adviser in charge of allremand homes in Lagos set me thinking about the boys and girls on the street. They have dreams too. Can they fulfill those dreams on the street? The answer will likely be no; because I won't be where I am today if I ended up on the street. 

For this reason, Mercy Johnson Foundation will be doing a lot to get kids off the street. We are not asking people for money or donation, I will do all I can with the resources God has given me, and with the support of my husband to help get these kids off the street and set them on the path where they can begin to pursue their dreams. I want to plead with people, fans, friends and colleagues to spare a thought for the children on the street. We can begin by educating people around us, parents, the children and people in charge of children (Oga-house help relationship, teacher-student relationship, and others) on the need to treat every child like the future of Nigeria depends on it. And truth be told, our future will not be all that enjoyable if we let the scourge of 'street-children' fester. By then, the rich will begin to cry. I learnt Lagos State Government has 11 homes where most children picked from the streets are kept, reformed and reunited with their families after counseling
.
That is an initiative Mercy Johnson Foundation will be supporting and beyond that we will be going to different states to help spread the message-Get kids off the street, save the future. From tomorrow, I will begin to replay some of the lessons I learnt at the boys' reform home and we all can contribute to getting the kids off the street.

Psquare's Peter Okoye Denies Visiting Strip Club

Some few hours ago, social media went wild with reports of Peter Okoye visiting a strip club and splashing hard currency there, after he posted some raunchy photos from a strip club. Well, the Psquare pop singer has denied being there and even has evidence to prove it.

Some hours after Peter posted photos of strippers working it on the pole and another showing an unidentified man getting a lap dance, on his Instagram page, which reporters thought was him, he posted another one, a full photo proving that he wasn’t the person.
‘Now I got dem…. Hahahhahahha!… But still ballin‘, Peter Okoye wrote adding ‘Lesson of the day: Do not judge wen u r not sure… #Caseclosed‘.

Guess this is his own idea of a joke.

Daniel Oikhena, who hid in the wheel well of Arik Air aircraft used for flight W3 544 from Benin Airport to the Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA, Lagos has finally achieved the desires of his heart as De Raufs, a volunteer group extolling the virtues of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Governor of Osun State, has volunteered to sponsor Daniel Oikhena up to university level and help him realise his dream of travellingby air legitimately.
In a statement signed by the Director General of the group, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, the group is ready to give scholarship to Daniel up to university level and help him realise his dream of travelling by air legitimately.
Shittu said: “Genius and ambitious citizen of our country must not be suffocated on the alter of political and bureaucratic enforcement. The little boy’s ambition should be nurtured through qualitativeeducation, and the group is ready to give the boy all the necessary support to make his dream a reality.


“We sincerely willing to offer him the scholarship to encourage thousands of teenagers who are cerebral and ambitious. The leaders in Nigeria fail on their part to see the potential of the little boy. Therefore, De Raufs takes up the responsibility to safe the future of this great boy and not turning him to criminal.”

A commercial bus driver and his conductor stripped totally naked today at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, to resist arrest and to protect their vehicle from being towed by the police.

D’Banj,Burna Boy Others Shut Sown P’Harcourt For Hennessy Artistry (PHOTO)

Nigeria’s Oil City, Port Harcourt witnessed one of the biggest parties of the year last weekend as the Hennessy Artistry 2013 club tour stormed the garden city with some of Nigeria’s biggest superstars.
Hosted by popular on air personality Olisa Adibua, the event held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Lamborghini club in GRA, Port Harcourt and saw guests from different parts of the country come to witness the ultimate Hennessy experience.

With energetic performances from fast rising acts: Pucado and Phyno, the event kicked off on a high note and fans sure got in the party mood.

Dbanj brought the house down with pulsating performances also thrilling guests in attendance with his first live performance of this year’s Artistry theme song.

Port Harcourt’s biggest artiste, Burna Boy was also in town to party with Dbanj and fans present.
Dbanj will make his second club appearance in Lagos later in September. The next stop for the Hennessy Artistry club tour this weekend is Club DV8 in Victoria Island, Lagos and will feature performances from Phyno, Kay Switch and Chidinma.

This year’s Hennessy Artistry 2013 supporting acts include Olamide, Chidinma, Vector, Pucado, Phyno, Seyi Shay, Show Dem Camp, Kay Switch and Sean Tizzle were announced three weeks ago and have promised fans the time of their lives this year.
