Olusegun Agagu, Former Ondo Governor Is Dead

Dr. Olusegun Kokumo Agagu, the immediate past governor of Ondo State is dead.

Agagu reportedly slumped and died in his House in Ibadan, Oyo State, yesterday afternoon after returning from a trip to United States. Another source said he died in his Ikoyi residence, in Lagos.

Agagu, a senior member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, was to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan next week along with some elders of the party from the South West on the lingering crisis in the Party.

He said that Edobor alleged that at about 10 p.m., while she was at the City Rock Hotel, Mararaba, Jemo assaulted her without provocation.

Police Arrest 4 Cows In Lagos

Officials of the Lagos State Government in conjunction with the police taskforce have arrested four cows and 37 butchers for operating at an illegal slaughter slab at Otto Awori area of Badagry, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, with the taskforce, stormed the area on Tuesday and arrested the cows and suspects.
Four vans of butchered meat were also carted away to the Taskforce office at Alausa where the suspects would be arraigned in court. The four cows were taken to Agege Abattoir.

6 Killed, 2 Injured As Gunmen Attack Bauchi Village

Six persons were killed and two others injured when gunmen attacked Gambiri village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP. Hassan Auyo, who confirmed this on Wednesday in Bauchi, said that preliminary investigations showed that the attackers were cattle rustlers.

“Our preliminary investigations show that the attackers were cattle rustlers,” he said.

12-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide In Bayelsa

A 12-year-old girl on Monday allegedly committed suicide in Yenagoa, the police told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday.

Alex Akhigbe, Bayelsa Police Public Relations Officer, said that the girl hanged herself early on Monday.

“Yes, police have confirmed the death of the young girl, who killed herself behind her father’s house early in the morning yesterday.
“The police have also evacuated the corpse from the scene and deposited it in the mortuary. The corpse is still awaiting autopsy.

“It was a very strange act and a surprise to see a young girl of that age take her life; it is a real mystery,” Mr. Akhigbe said.

A Madhya Pradesh woman took revenge on the man who raped her at knifepoint by dousing him in kerosene and setting him on fire.

The deceased, who has been identified as Raju Vishvakarma, 38, died of burn injuries in a local hospital on Friday.
According to his dying declaration, the woman — who he raped — asked him to visit her house for negotiating an out of court settlement in the rape case on Thursday evening.

When Raju reached her house, the victim, with the help of her brothers, doused him in kerosene and set him on fire.

UNBELIEVABLE: Netherlands Close Prisons For Lack Of Criminals

While prison populations grows in the United Kingdom, with overcrowded cells and repeat offenders, the opposite is happening in the Netherlands.

The Dutch justice ministry has announced that the country is going to close at least 8 prisons due to a lack of criminals.

According to the local media, the country has the capacity for 14,000 prisoners and there are only 12,000 detainees.

Policemen from the Aba Area Command, Abia state has gunned down a kidnapper while four others escaped with bullet wounds at the Ama Ogbonna area of the commercial city.The kidnappers were said to have threatened a cleric, Pastor Prince Samuel Origa to produce his son, Kelvin Origa who just came back from China or be killed.Source gathered that the gang trailed the cleric to his residence, threatening to kill him unless he brings out Kelvin to settle them.Pastor Origa said the kidnappers accosted him at Eziukwu by Jubillee road junction on his way back from a trip to Imo state. “I alighted from a tricycle and four able bodied men accosted me with a rifle and collected my hand bag containing a cash of N270,000, mobile phone, documents and other items. They trailed me to my house and surrendered everybody at gunpoint. I pleaded with them, and we agreed that they should come tomorrow to collect N1m. The principal of Ijokodo Junior Secondary School 1, Ibadan, Oyo State Mr Segun Dare, was on Wednesday, found dead along the street to his home at Citaga area, Sango-Eleyele road, several hours after he didn’t turn up at home as expected.

According to reports, Mr Dare, who left home the previous day, was discovered face down in a gutter, with his mobile handset in his pocket and a polythene bag containing soup ingredients like fish and pepper beside him.

It was gathered that the deceased left his home in the afternoon of Tuesday, September 3, to go to a first generation bank along Sango-Eleyele road but could not do what he intended doing there as he got there late.

COLD JUSTICE: Cultist Dies After molesting 5-Month-Old Pregnant Woman

A notorious cult member, identified as Tunde Lawal, was reportedly shot in the chest during a clash with rival groups after he and another cult member identified as Para Alabi had accosted and molested a 5-month pregnant woman.

Lawal, 23 was reported to be a member of the Eiye cult group terrorising the community and reportedly met his death in the evening of Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

The duo reportedly left the woman unconscious at the scene of the rape before finding their way to where Lawal met his death. It was reported that barely an hour after Lawal and his partner-in-crime arrived at a beer pub, about 12 members of a rival cult group arrived in a big bus.
