HORROR: Family Of Six Burn To Death In Port Harcourt

An early morning inferno yesterdayin Port Harcourt claimed the lives of six members of a family. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained though, neighbours of the deceasedfamily members however gave the time the fire started as 2pm.

Landlord of the house, located at number 17, New Estate Road, Railway Quarters, said all they heard was a loud explosion, only too notice balls of fire next.

The residents claimed they ran out of their apartments in the confusion, adding that the explosion came from the apartment of the deceased family members.

According to residents, three boys, a girl and their parents were those consumed in the fire. They put the ages of the children at twenty two, seventeen, nine and seven years, adding that two other daughters of the deceased parents were not at home when the incident occurred.

The two other children, it was learnt relocated to write the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE.

Neighbours said the father was a taxi driver while the wife was a petty trader.

The landlord cried uncontrollably at the scene of the incident, mumbling how he wished no lives were lost in the fire.

“If the fire had only consumed the building leaving the lives, we would all have been consoled. But losing a family of six is a heavy loss”, he lamented.

Confirming the incident, Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Angela Agabe, said it was a sad loss, but said she was still awaiting details of the incident

“I really really loved Iyanya ‘- Yvonne Nelson reveals in new interview

The Ghanaian actress had a very revealing interview with Bella Naija today where she opened up about her relationship with Iyanya and how much he hurt her. Excerpts:

BN: How long did the two of you date and how would you describe the relationship?
YN: We dated for 7 to 8 months. We had something and I thought it was special, like he was a wonderful guy but it was all lies. He had other girls and other things he was doing. Aside the actress that was in the picture, there were a lot more. That is how bad it is. We were in a relationship and he lied throughout and he was able to do all those things because I wasn’t living inNigeria. But aside from the distance, I feel if you’re a genuine person and you’re loyal, you would still not do that.

BN: Is this actress you’re talking about actually Tonto Dikeh?
YN: I feel it’s disrespectful to start mentioning other people’s names. I am talking about Iyanya because we had a thing, I don’t want to bring in a third person. There were a lot of names that people know. There was a girl from South Africa, I’m not going to mention names but she was part of Big Brother Africa last year.

BN: Most people only got to know that you and Iyanya were dating after you broke up. Were you deliberately being secretive about it?
YN: I also don’t believe in putting my relationships in the faces of people. We both had our careers and were trying to protect our fan base and that’s cool. But if you go through my Instagram page, you’d see a couple of pictures of us together. I wasn’t shy about anything but he could not say he’s dating Yvonne Nelson because he had different people he was seeing so it was very hard for him to bring it out.

BN: What did the experience teach you?
YN: There are some things that you don’t get to learn in school; people can’t advice you, you won’t even listen. You just have to experience it to learn. I have no regrets that I went through it, it would have happened anyway. We are all human beings. We fall in love once in a while but if it doesn’t work out, that’s OK.

BN: Have you moved on since then?
YN: I have! It happened last year but I’ve moved on. I’ve been working hard, been producing movies. I still listen to his music, I love his album. I love the Track 1 with MI and I love, ‘I Got It’. He is a very talented guy, I always have goose bumps on my body when he sings.

BN: Aside from the music, what else was the attraction?
YN: You can’t really explain when you love somebody. It’s everything. It was just something that I felt and I can’t explain. It was love, I really really loved him and he knows that.

BN: How do you feel about him now and what message would you like to pass on to him if you had the chance?
YN: Iyanya is such an amazing person but I just feel he needs to be more honest and be a man of his words. It’s not good if he takes advantage of women. My Mum always says any man who takes advantage of women won’t end up well. It’s Karma, it’s going to come back to you. He should treat women fairly and he should be an honest person. It’s been a while though, I haven’t seen him. He is doing amazing things in his career and I wish him luck.

Shocking: Female Lautech Student Killed; Eyes, Brains, Private Parts Removed

Reports reaching DailyPost from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, has it that afemale student of the institution, identified as Seun was found dead around 10 pm on Friday with her brain, eyes and breasts removed. The hair on her private part was equally shaved too.

DailyPost gathered that the deceased’s mutilated body was found along Under-G Student Area of Ogbomosho, behind Jastok Guest house.

It was gathered that, the late 100 level student of Transport Management Department was declared missing by her friends and room mates after she was last seen four days ago.

However, following the discovery of her body, some of her close friends were forced to disclose that she left the hostel days ago for a party and hadn’t returned since then, leaving many to suggest that perhaps she was raped to death and eventually used for some rituals.

The deceased’s boyfriend has been arrested and handed over to the police as the prime suspect.

In this country, nothing can stay hidden for too long. A video and commentary has emerged revealing what really happened at the scene of the almost fatal Wizkid accident.

The eyewitness says that the accident was not caused by another motorist as the initial story goes, rather; people on the scene say the expensive Porsche was spotted speeding down the Lekki-Epe Expressway towards the Lekki Toll gate when suddenly the front tire burst and resulting to the car twisting and spinning. 

The source says that Wizkid’s car spun around like three and four times before halting along the concrete sidewalk. Within seconds, the right side of his Porsche was shredded. The airbags had activated, keeping the passengers in the car safe.

It wasn’t confirmed who was driving at the time of the accident. The witnesscontinued by saying,‘They got out immediately, Wizkid looked a little distressed but was okay, his bodyguard immediately grabbed a screwdriver and began removing the license plates‘, Minutes later, another vehicle was sighted at the scene of the accident and picked up Wizkid, while his bodyguard stayed put until a tow truck arrived to tow the crashed car. Emeka Ike In Trouble Over Fake Cheque, May Go To Jail

Popular Nollywood star Emeka Ike is in serious scandal as we learnt, he may go to jail if he fails to rectified the issue as soon as possible.

Each team were asked to pay the sum of #3000 for registration and 16 teams participated. Emeka Ike promised that he was going to reward the winner with the sum of 500,000 naira, the first runner up with N100,000; and the 3rd place winner will get N75,000. Aside the popular musician, Daddy Showkey, who came to rack up the excitement of the tournament with his presence, no other public figure was present. Six months after the tournament we gathered that, none of the winning team has redeemed their winning as you read this as Emeka was alleged to have totally ignored frequent calls or text messages sent to him after he issued a bank cheque to the guys.

ALFA RAPES 18-Year-Old GIRL DURING ‘SPIRITUAL CLEANSING’ IN IBADAN

Wonders, they say will never end. This could best describe the purported spiritual cleansing exercise by an Islamic cleric, Alfa Isiaka, on Nafisat Gafari, an 18-year-old girl in Ibadan. 

Crime & Security learnt that Alfa Isiaka had visited the victim’s hairdressing salon shop at Orita-Aperin, Ibadan. On sighting her, Alfa professed that he saw calamities before her and told her that only spiritual deliverance could save her from the impending danger. 

Gullibly, Nafisat agreed to follow the Islamic cleric to his house at Oja’ba, where unknown toher, Alfa Isiaka was alleged to have had a carnal knowledge of her while she slept off. 

Nafisat, Crime & Security learnt woke up to the reality that someone had slept with her, while according to her, she was unconscious of happenings around her. 

Recounting her ordeal at the police station, Nafisat, according to sources, said that the only thing she could remember was that she was given a drink and after consumption, she couldn’t recollect anything until after she wokeup to discover that Alfa had allegedly had sex with her. 

The victim had since reported at the Mapo police station, Ibadan and is currently under investigation, while the suspect is currently at large. Police sources however, informed Crime & Security that efforts were at advance stage to apprehend the suspect. 

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bisi Ilobanafor, confirmed the story and even expressed worry at the increase in cases of rape these days. 

“There is obviously an increase in rape cases these days, apparent of which is the increase inawareness, because victims nowadays come out to report unlike before when we only heard about rape cases, but the victims would be afraid to come out and speak. I don’t think rape victims should be ashamed of speaking out. 

Anytime there is a rape or defilement case, the case is always transferred to the State CriminalInvestigation Department (SCID) Iyaganku, Ibadan because of the importance attached to it. In a related development, one Yetunde (Surname witheld), of Ilupeju area, Ibadan, Oyo State, was also raped last week. Olapade, Crime & Security learnt left home in company of her brothers and sisters to watch a masquerade show. While returning, Olapade said some criminals accosted her and dragged her to one corner where three of them raped her and ran away.

Female Student Molested By Security Guard And Five Male Students (PHOTO)

It was a very bad day recently for a beautiful ND 1 student of a private polytechnic in Ekiti State as she was molested by five different different men, including a boy who was professing undying love for her and wanted her to be his special girlfriend. 

The boy and his three friends first took turn to rape her after tying her hands and legs.
Then a security man who was asked to take the victim to the police station for a formal report also could not resist her beauty, hence he took her to his house and also forcefully had his way. How sad! 

Consequently, It was gathered that 4 suspected members of a cult group and the security man of the institution have all been arrested over the incident. 

The rape victim [name withheld] said the boy, who had earlier asked her out, stormed her room with 3 boys, tied her up and took turn to rape her. 

She said the Chief Security Officer of the school directed a security man, Adanbioje, to take her to police station to make an official report of the rape case but after leaving the station, the security man took her to his residence and also forcefully had sex with her. The security man, however, denied molesting the female student. He claimed that he granted the girl an “asylum” because she said she could not sleep alone in her house. 

“She could not sleep alone because she was afraid that those who had earlier molested hermight come back again,” he insisted The Police PRO, Victor Babayemi, who paraded the suspects, said police investigation had shown that rape cases had been rampant in the institution, and assured that the suspects would be prosecuted.

Secondary School Girls In Ghana Nabbed Having Gang Sèx With Nigerians

On the 17TH of February, 2006, webzine Ghanaweb published an article under the heading ‘SSS GirlsSacked For Engaging in Gang sèx’. In this story, ten girls of MpraesoSecondary School (MPASS) were caught in a gang sèx at a hotel and were alleged to be having sèx with five Nigerians suspected to be drug dealers. Another interesting thing is that each girl received ¢150,000 for the endurance and sèx skills. Therefore, if these men are HIV positive and there was unprotected sèx between them, then each infection has been exchanged for ¢150,000.What a shame. Where is Ghana heading towards?

In fact this Ghanaweb article revealed to us the kind of activities going on in our various schools and the fact that young people are now lacking sèx education or maybe there is not enough education on sèx for this young people. At least with the upsurge of HIV/AIDS, I would expect my fellow young people to think before engaging in such activities such as sèx.
I was told by a friend that teenage girls in Ghana take pride in the number of sèx rounds they can go and also the super skills they can exhibit. I hear they sometimes laugh at men who cannot provide ‘hard f**k’ and also endure long ‘distances’. We need to wake up. Our young people are going wayward. They are getting CRAZY each and every time.
I believe our parents need to do more than they are doing now in providing enough sèx education to their wards. I know it is not easy, but we need to save our young people, we need to have a better Ghana filled with morally upright youth who can take proper control of our motherland.
It this article, I want to highlight some issues for parents on sèx education and want to appeal to Ghanaweb as well as our media houses to constantly publish articles that will remind our youth on the dangers associated with sèx and also benefits of delaying early sèxual activities, these articles I believe would help them in their proper development.
The word S-E-X has been associated with social taboos and cultural mystery. Even though it contributes to the continuation of the human race, it is treated as if it is unnatural and even down right dirty. This and other stigma attached to sèx makes parents scared about discussing it with their children. sèx in the new millennium is filled with risks – both emotional and physical. Gone are the days when the only worry the sèxually active young person was unwanted pregnancy. Girls especially were more worried. This wonderful millennium ushered in a new revolution fueled by rampant STDs, high teenage pregnancy rates and the incurable AIDS virus.
AIDS is on the rise among teens and young people in general, and the fact is, if you are sèxually active, you can get it.
Even though I don’t have the exact figures, I believe a considerable number of Ghanaian young people of10-24 years are sèxually active and as such needs a kind of comprehensive sèx education so as to prevent pregnancies and sèxually transmitted diseases.
These young people should also have access to appropriate, comprehensive information about sèx, sèxuality and the consequences of bringing children into the world. This will build their decision-making skills to help protect them from pressure to have sèx, unintended pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and other sèxually transmitted diseases.
So Parents,
If talking with your child about sèx is difficult for you, admit it. Keep a sense of humor. Do not be shy about it.
Use TV, movies, articles, and real-life situations such as a friend’s pregnancy to begin talking about sèx. I quite remember when we were very young; my mum will always use television programmes and films to talk to us about sèx.Whenever there is a drama or issue on pregnancy being discussed, she would immediately start talking about it to us.
Share your values regarding sèx. If you believe a person should save having sèx until marriage, say so. Accept that your child may choose to have sèx despite your values.
Don’t assume that if your child asks questions about sèx, he or she is necessarily thinking about having sèx.
Ask your child what he or she wants to know about sèx. If you don’t know an answer, admit it. Find answers with your child in books or other resources.
Talk with your child about reasons to wait to have sèx. Remind your child that he or she can choose to wait (abstain) even if he or she has had sèx before.
Reassure your child that not everyone is having sèx and that it is okay to be a virgin. The decision to become sèxually active is too important to be based on what other people think or do.
Talk with your child about ways to handle pressure from others to have sèx. To feel comfortable talking openly with you, your child needs to know that you will not punish him or her for being honest. Let your child trust you.
Leave age-appropriate articles or books about teenage sèxuality around your home. Your child will pick them up on his/her own and read them.
You may also find resources such as books, videos etc., from a lot of good organizations and Youth Centres like the Young and Wise Center of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana. These centers have a lot of resources that would help in the proper development of your child’s sèxual and reproductive health. Visit them soon.
Finally, you should also remember to talk to your child often; your first talk with your child about sèx should not be your last! Talk with your child about sèx often. Let your child know that you are always willing to talk about any question, issue or concern he or she may have about sèx.

Gunmen On 38 Motorcycles Invade Zamfara Village, Kill 32

More than 32 persons were reported killed in the early hours of Tuesday when gunmen numbering about 150 attacked Kizara village in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara.

More than 32 persons were reported killed in the early hours of Tuesday when gunmen numbering about 150 attacked Kizara village in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The heavily armed gunmen, who came on 38 motorcycles, invaded the village at about 4 a.m., shooting sporadically at anybody in sight.

An eye-witnesses told newsmen that the attackers set several houses and shops in the village on fire.

The witness said that the gunmen moved from house to house pretending to be residents of the village and shouting for help.

 He added that when people came out, the invaders either killed them with their guns or with machetes.

The witness, who pleaded anonymity, said that the gunmen also invaded the residents of the Village Head, Alhaji Lawali Muhammad, the Chief Imam, Alhaji Usman Adamu, and his assistant, killing them.

The Commissioner of Police in Zamfara, Mr Usman Gwary, who visited the village under tight security, confirmed that 32 persons were killed while the villagers claimed that 58 persons lost their lives.

The police chief told newsmen that he had mobilised his men to search for the fleeing gunmen.

The Chairman of Tsafe Local Government Council, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, told NAN that the villagers had been living in fear since suspected men of the underworld sent a letter to the head of the vigilance group threatening to kill him.

Following the attack also, several residents of the village were seen fleeing the village for fear that the attackers would return to kill them.
