Miss Africa Contestant Found Stabbed To Death Next To Crying Daughter In London

A young model was found stabbed to death with her three-year old-daughter ‘crying next to her in a pool of blood’, friends said today.
The body of Linah Keza, 29, understood to have taken part in Miss Africa 2010, was found at a flat in King Edward Road, Leyton, early yesterday morning.
She is believed to have had a panic button installed by police.

The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, which will look at contact police had with her and a 38-year-old man who has been arrested over her death.

London Ambulance Service paramedics accompanied police to the address just before 4.30am, but Linah, a Rwandan national living in London, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood that her daughter was at the address at the time of the attack, according to a family friend.

Suspected Boko Haram members yesterday slaughtered Eight persons, including a lecturer at the College of Education, Waka, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Islamists were said to have invaded the town after escaping from their camps in Sambisa and other camps in Borno and Yobe states, during military raid on those camps.
The killing took place around the popular Kadafur Cinema area and other wards where a lecturer at the Waka College of Education, who was also an Islamic cleric, three members of a family and four others were slaughtered, according to sources.
Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Zanna Mustapha, who is also from Biu Local Government Area had last week, in an interview with newsmen in Maiduguri, lamented the increasing killing of innocent people in Biu.
He said the state government was not interested in the restoration of GSM network in the state for now as doing so will jeopardise the relative peace being enjoyed in the state.
“Biu is no longer safe. There were pockets of killings by suspected Boko Haram sect in the last few days,” a source who just arrived Maiduguri from the troubled town said.
“In fact, most of the killings were targeted at school teachers and Islamic clerics, and the most unfortunate thing is that the terrorists have devised a means of using knives to slaughter their targets, as using gunshots will attract security agencies.”
Joint Task Force, JTF had since been deployed to the streets of the town to ensure safety of lives and property, even as some volunteered youths have offered to assist the security agencies in apprehending those perpetrating such act.

Veteran Nollywood actress Stella Damasus is facing demons from her past.
Information reaching me is that the fair skinned beautiful actress, Stella Damasus apparently didn’t divorce her second husband before she sealed the knot with the third – Daniel Ademiroka.
As a result, her second husband, Emeka Nzeribe has decided to take the case to a court where he plans on suing Stella for marrying and living with another man (Doris Simeon’s husband) while they are still married, legally.
If Emeka Nzeribe gosr through with his court case, it would make situations worse for the actress who is already being criticized on the social media recently by her fans who said she lack the moral right to insult Senators over under-age marriage, since she is not also laying a good foundation for other ladies.

I Raped Only 6 Children - Kano Bank Driver Confesses.

A 50-year-old driver in one of the new generation banks, arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl, Zainab, who feigned ignorance of the implication of his offence, has told the police at the Kano State Police Command, Bompai police division, that he has successfully had carnal knowledge of five other minors in the past.

The alleged rapist, Malam Yusif Ibrahim, a resident of Hayye Hotoron Arewa Quarters, Nassarawa local government area, is married, has with 11 children.

Yusif told newsmen that it all started when Zainab, his neighbour’s daughter met him where he was buying a local snack, ‘Awara’ for his little children and she asked him to buy for her too but he only had N20 on him at the time so he promised to buy it for her at another time.

The alleged rapist said on the day of the incident, he had just finished his night prayers and went out to buy some things from a shop after which he had N150 left and on his way back, he saw Zainab close to his house and they got talking, during which he asked her if she had fasted to which she agreed and he promised to reward her financially.

He said he made sure Zainab entered his private room to get the money after which “I brought out N100 and gave her thinking it was N50 I gave because we were in the dark and instead of her to just go, she stayed back.

“Having seen that she was still there, I brought her into my arms and intended to have canal knowledge of her but she had her pants on. I lost my erection in the process and Zainab even helped to caress my penis to make it erect for possible penetration but I couldn’t penetrate her so I ejaculated on her body.”

He also said shortly after she left, her mother came to him and asked whether he was the person that gave her daughter N100 and he agreed with a promise that it will never happen again.

The driver said he was ignorant of the consequences of his action, even as he said the bank manager disowned him at the police station, saying he must pay the price for his offence.

Meanwhile, Zainab’s uncle, Alhaji Magaji Yahaya, told newsmen that Zainab’s mother confronted him with the sad news that their neighbour had raped little Zainab, saying she confirmed to him that blood was coming out of her vagina when they first saw her coming out of Malam Yusif’s house.

He mentioned that on that night they rushed Zainab and the culprit to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for medical attention and confirmation of what really happened to their daughter, even as he confirmed that Malam Yusif was a serial rapist as they gathered that he raped the daughters of Malam Musa, Malam Dan Hussaini, Malam Haladu Gemu and Hajiya Hansatu.

Davido Kept It Fresh For Hours In Bed With Me- Pendo, KenyanDavido Kept It Fresh For Hours In Bed With Me- Pendo, Kenyan Girl Boasts

Some of you know Davido just returned from Kenya right? Well there has been a particular girl who has been granting a tell it all interview about how she had sex with the music star while he was in Kenya. According to her, David kept it fresh for hours. 'He' is big in LENGTH and WIDTH. Such a bad girl, lol. Read what she has to say in one of the interviews below. Oh ye Kenyan ladies.

So what is all this wahala about Davido blocking you off of his facebook?
Pendo : If people had done even a little research, they would know that Davido does not even have a Facebook account. I NEVER said I was in touch with him through Facebook. I got in touch with him through a good friend of his *redacted* and that's where everything started. He did the intro.

So, seriously, did you sleep with Davido?

Pendo: Errrrrrrrrrrm (laughs cheekily) (There is IRREFUTABLE proof that Pendo did spend the night with Nigerian superstar, if you want to see it plead with her on twitter @LoveStaicey to release it.) In the meantime, have this picture of Davido, topless, in his hotel room from his personal instagram. Maybe Pendo took it #troll

So why did you do this? Do you do this for money?

Pendo: (Laughs) No, I didn't get money from him. I didn't WANT money from him. I did it simply cuz I find him hot and he is pretty legit in the music industry in Africa. Yeah, I am attracted by his talent, his fame, his power, but honestly, who isn't? And people are talking so much because a lot of women wanted to be in my shoes, but were not. I'm not afraid to go after what I want. That's just me. And I am unapologetic for it. I am content that I got what I wanted -which was to know him- and I guess it just naturally progressed from there...

So was this a one time thing then?

Pendo: No, I would do it again. Gladly. I don't regret it at all.

Of course you know now I am gonna ask about the "D". Free reign, choose your own words to describe it.

Pendo: He was perfect.

Nooooooooo, more than that. DESCRIPTION.

Pendo: (Laughing) Ok, ok. Errrrrrrrrrrm, he is much better than your "average Kenyan". He is big. Both length and width. (Giggles) And best part is he REALLY knows what he is working with.

Haha, so you loved ALL OF HIM. (SN: Hehe, see what I did there?)

Pendo: (Giggles) Ha, you won't let this go will you. Haha, no seriously though, he has CRAZY moves, he kept it fresh for a couple hours. I am impressed. Definitely the best...(hesitates) Ok maybe not the best I ever had, but he is up there.

So was this a one night stand or will you be seeing him again?

Pendo: Davido is not only a good lover but a gentleman. Not only did he not publicise the affair, but he left me with some personal mementos to remember him. I don't think a one night stand does that. Plus there is still communication going on. I'm not saying we are dating, but we are definitely still talking. He did not "hit it and quit it".

Jonathan's Convoy In Nasarawa Auto Crash, 14 Injured

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Shehu, has on Tuesday confirmed that the convoy of President Goodluck Jonathan was involved in an auto crash the day before, leaving 14 persons injured.

According to the eyewitnesses, three confessional policemen, three mobile policemen, one member of the civil defence corps, as well as one official of the state branch of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and six civilians were "seriously injured".

Mr Shehu claimed the state government had since released funds for the treatment of all the victims. He added that some of the victims have been discharged but those who have serious fracture were still at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia.

According to him, the accident happened when the vehicle of a prison officer ran into the convoy of the president and collided with one of the riders, who somersaulted and thereafter ran into the crowd.

"They are all responding to treatment at the hospital. Some have fractures on their legs.

"The prison officer sustained minor injury. He is still in police custody while investigation is ongoing," he said.

It will be recalled that the president was in Lafia for the inauguration of the newly constructed Federal High Court and Ta'al Model School constructed by the present administration in the state.

He was represented by Vice-President Namadi Sambo.

Woman Sets 11-Year-Old House Help Ablaze For Stealing Meat

  Bassey-Eno
 Bassey-Eno
The life of an 11-year old girl, Ita Bassey-Eno, hangs in the balance after she was allegedly set ablaze by the woman she lives with, Mrs Nkese Iroakazi, a nurse at a hospital in Surulere.
Nkese was alleged to have poured kerosene on Bassey-Eno before lighting a match stick to set her ablaze after the girl was said to have stolen a piece of meat from the pot.
Witnesses said the girl ran out of their apartment at 7, Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere, to the main road with fire all over her body as she cried for help from passers-by to rescue her.
She was said to have been saved by someone driving by, who put out the fire with his car’s fire extinguisher.
The incident, which occurred last Saturday, was immediately reported at the Bode Thomas Police Station and the police from the station arrested Mrs. Nkese, while the little girl was rushed to the Burns and Trauma Centre, an annex of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital at the General Hospital, Gbagada, for urgent attention as the doctors in the hospital said she had suffered 95 percent burns and would take a miracle for her to survive.
The girl’s private part was damaged, as almost all her body got burnt.
Executive Director, Esther Child Rights Foundation, ECRF, Mrs. Esther Ogwu, who was at the hospital to see the girl, wept when she saw her pathetic state, saying that in all her life as human rights activist, she had never come across such a gruesome case as that of the little girl.
According to Ogwu, “the situation is terrible. The doctor said the girl suffered 95 percent burns and that her private part has been damaged. This woman is more than wicked. Justice must take its course.
“One of the health officials at the General Hospital, Gbagada called me and said a woman poured kerosene on the little girl staying with her and lit up a match stick and set her ablaze. The girl ran out of the house to the main road where a Good Samaritan used her car fire extinguisher to put out the fire.”
Bassey-Eno, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, was brought from the village with another girl, Happiness Okon-Bassey, 13, to live with Nkese in June 2013 on the premise that she would send them to school, but that was not to be as the two girls allegedly performed the function of domestic servants for Nkese.
The second house girl, Okon-Bassey, said she did not see when her colleague was set ablaze but that she heard her screaming when their mistress was beating her shortly before the she saw flame all over her body when she ran outside their home.
She alleged that they were maltreated and beaten thoroughly very often and that they had no time to rest as they work almost throughout the day for their mistress without going to school, saying that they normally eat twice daily.
Daughter of the alleged culprit, Ijeoma Akiti, 27, said she was not at home when the incident occurred and that she could not tell whether her mother poured kerosene on the little girl’s body and set her ablaze, but that she heard such story at the police station.
Police sources alleged that the little girl confessed that her mistress poured kerosene on her. The police at the station said the woman would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti for further investigation into the matter, but Ogwu alleged that the police were trying to shield the woman from prosecution.
In her statement at the police station, Iroakazi denied that she poured kerosene on the little girl’s body and set her ablaze.
According to her, she was in the sitting room when she heard a loud cry and rushed out only to see the girl on fire and called on people to help put out the fire.
Officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA, were at the hospital and the police station where they spoke with the woman, but she denied the story.
WAPA officials took Okon-Bassey, the second girl with them for rehabilitation pending when she would be reconciled with her real mother.
Bassey-Eno lies groaning in pain, and in critical condition at the General Hospital, Gbagada, with doctors battling to save her life. [PMNews]

[SHOCKING PHOTO] Jungle Justice: Lagos Policemen Kill Undergraduate And Friend In A Gruesome Lynching

Policemen attached to the Badagry Police Division, Lagos State, and some hoodlums have been accused of killing a 25-year-old undergraduate of Delta State University, Ifechukwude Nwainokpor, and his friend, identified simply as Kazeem.

the-hoodlums-in-action.-insert-nwainokpo1-360x225
An eight-minute video clip of the gruesome killing showed the two victims handcuffed together. They were covered in their own blood and beaten to death with sticks. Tyres were also put round   their necks.
An irate mob could be seen in the video, shouting, “die, die, burn them, burn them.”
At some points in the video, a policeman was seen interviewing the boys. He asked who sent them (victims) to rob the area, an accusation they denied. One of the hoodlums, holding a sharp object attempted to cut off the private part of one of the victims.
Nwainokpor could be seen pleading with the hoodlums and policemen to spare his life, saying he could identify himself if given a chance. His plea, however, fell on deaf ears.
A source, who visited the family of Nwainokpor  on Tuesday, learnt that the lynching took place around 3pm on July 21, 2013 in Ajara area of Badagry, a community not far from Nwainokpor’s family home.
His father, Samuel said that his son was arrested while passing through a street in the area  but a misunderstanding later ensued and the hoodlums pounced on  him  and Kazeem.
He added that  Nwainokpor, who was nicknamed Ify, was a final year student of Geology and Mining.
He said, “On that particular day, I was in Ghana when I received a telephone call  that I should come immediately. My wife was in Delta State taking care of her   mother.
“When I arrived two days later, my relatives and the caretaker of my house  told me that my son was killed in the Ajara area along with his friend. I was devastated.
“I got my son a  temporary job with a Customs licensed  agent since their lecturers were on strike.  He worked everyday except on Sundays when he visited his  friends. On that day, he went to see Kazeem and they were strolling around Ajara.”
Samuel said because there had been a robbery in Ajara four days earlier, some of the residents were on the lookout for strange faces.
He added that when the youth  saw two unknown young men, they  accosted them and an argument ensued.
He said the youth  called the head of the vigilante group   in the area, one Asiribo.
He said, “Asiribo came to the scene with a locally-made pistol and handcuffs. He handcuffed my son and his friend  before asking them questions.
“Later, it was decided that the boys be taken to the Baale, Agano Oniyon of Agamade Ajara. But as they were going, Asiribo, while trying to return his gun into its  pouch, mistakenly shot himself in the stomach and died.”
Samuel said Asiribo’s death infuriated the youth, who  blamed the boys for  his  death.“The mob picked up sticks  and beat them to death. Policemen were there,” he said.
Holding back tears, the retired immigration officer   added  that the police treated the matter as a robbery case. Beating  his chest,  Samuel said there was no way his son would have been involved in  armed robbery.
Nwainokpor’s boss, Aloysius Onyenibedi, described him as an honest and hardworking person.
“I trusted him to the extent that I used to keep a lot of money with him. He was good to my children and was honest,” he said.
The Nwainokpor family berated the Divisional Police Officer, Badagry Police Station,  Dankoli Mohammed, for the manner he treated the case.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, said, “The incident is quite pathetic. Even if they were armed robbers, no one has the right to take the life of another. Why then do we have the police and the judiciary? The Nigerian police as well as the law condemn mob action and jungle justice. The commissioner of police has set up a high- powered investigation body to investigate the matter.”

Mary Sunday: A Cry For Justice, Succour

         • Mary before the attack                • Mary after the attack

The dream of every university graduate is to gain employment, thereby putting an end to life of dependency on parents, who must have laboured hard to help achieve that feat.
That dream, perhaps, is one that may never be realised, if financial help does not come Mary Sunday’s way, to assist her undergo urgent reconstructive surgery on her face and body. Sunday allegedly sustained first degree burns from a cooking stove with boiling stew poured on her by her fiancé, Police Corporal Isaac Gbanwuan Orseer, during a fracas.
Trouble started for the 27-year-old Business Administration graduate when in August 24, 2012, she and her fiancé, had gone to see their doctor over Isaac’s health issues. On their way home, an argument ensued over a telephone call that Mary received. The Corporal queried her concerning the telephone calls she made and received, suspecting the calls were from her lovers.
Obviously not satisfied with her explanation, the argument degenerated and by the time they got back to their Block 5, room 10 abode in Pedro Police Barracks, Isaac became aggressive and started beating her.
According to Mary, “when it became obvious I could not bear the pains inflicted on me by Isaac as he was kicking and dragging me, I tried to escape the scene and then ran to the second floor of the two-storey building, where we lived.”
This did not deter Isaac from inflicting more pain on his victim. According to Mary, Isaac pursued her into a neighbour’s kitchen, where she sought refuge, forcefully opened the door, and in a fit of rage, carried the neighbour’s cooking stove with boiling stew and emptied the content on Mary’s head. The stove exploded, consequently setting Mary on fire.
“I ran into our neighbour’s kitchen. She had a pot of boiling stew on her stove. Isaac just made his way to the stove, carried it and poured the content on me. Maybe it’s because he shook the hot stove, I don’t know. All I knew was that the stove exploded on me and my hair and cloth just caught fire. That was the last thing I remembered as I slipped into coma after that,” Mary recounted.
This act by Isaac has caused Mary to lose her two ears, her upper neck and arms, glued together by the fire. Mary has survived two surgeries to repair the damage caused to her face with the help of her family. Till date, Isaac is walking a free man, incidentally.
The Lagos State Deputy Police Public Relations Officer (DPPRO), Damascus Ozoani has however absolved the Corporal of the allegation on the ground that the police have carried out and closed investigations on the issue. The DPPRO, had in February, affirmed that Mary intentionally inflicted those harm on herself.
Beyond the investigation carried out by the police, Mary seems not to have any other window of redress since the police have closed investigation on her case.
Mary alleges foul play in the investigation as the police did not at any point visit her to get any information from her after a complaint was lodged by her relative.
These claims by the police have however been faulted by the Human Rights community.
Executive Director Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre, (WARDC), Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, believes that the police authority were too hasty in coming to the conclusion, arguing that unless it is intended to cover up one of their own from being punished for a dastardly act, the case should be reopened. She wondered why a woman, who was running for her life, seeking help and assistance from neighbours, would suddenly become suicidal and inflict such wanton harm on herself.
Since the incidence happened in Lagos that has passed the Violence Prohibition Law with a commitment to rid the state of violence against women and men, WARDC has petitioned the state House of Assembly.
In a petition to the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Akiyode-Abiola called on the state assembly to set up a panel of enquiry in respect of the case, so that such act will not go unpunished in order to serve as deterrent to others.
“We believe it is necessary because we suspect that there is an attempt to subdue the case because of the multiple conflicts of interest associated with the case. Also is the fact that several women suffer this and other forms of violence and the police attitude in Lagos often allows for these crimes to go unpunished.”
“The law amongst other things provides for protection and redress for women and men in abusive relationship. The state is under the obligation to protect this woman from this form of aggression”, she argued.
When contacted on telephone, Isaac said that the case has already been reported to the State Provost Marshal at Ikeja Command headquarters.
Meanwhile, the victim, Mary, has appealed to Nigerian Police authorities to reopen the case so that justice can be served on the matter. She also appealed to Nigerians to help her raise N5 million, needed to undergo reconstructive surgery in India.

'I Must Date A Man For 5yrs Before I Marry Him' - Nollywood Actress

Actress Eniola Badmus, popularly known as Gbogbo Bigz Girls, has earned her place in the highly competitive Nigerian movie industry as a crossover actress. Best known for her role as a street urchin, the actress in a recent interview revealed that she has to date a guy for five years before she will consider marrying him.

Eniola said, "What is the point if I marry today and tomorrow it's over? What's the essence? I am living my life. I will have a baby when necessary. Marriage is good but what's the essence of me getting married today and tomorrow I'm not in it? For any man I am going to marry or call my husband we should be together for five years before we walk down the aisle.

"We may have children but at least after five years I will know that you're ready for me. Not getting married today, and tomorrow he's out! I've seen it happen to my friends, I don't want to go through that trauma."

Does dating a guy for five years guarantee that the marriage will last?

No Plans To Call off Strike - ASUU

ACADEMIC Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has described as speculative reports that the strike embarked upon by the union over the inability of the Federal Government to implement the 2009 agreement it willingly entered into with the union would be called off this Thursday.

National President of ASUU, Dr. Nasir Fagge, told Vanguard that he was surprised to hear that the union was going to call off the strike on Thursday when the issues tabled before government had not been resolved.

Faggae said: “There is nothing like that (suspending the strike). I am also surprised to hear people say that we are going to call off the strike.

He said: “Our members have made it categorically clear what they want. This meeting we had with government on Friday at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, is just exploratory.

“We are trying to look at issues holistically and see how we are going to address them. So assignments were given to various people that attended the meeting and the expectation is that we will meet tomorrow (today), Monday and look at the assignment given and also look at it on Thursday again.

“So, that is why I’m surprised to hear people say that we are going to suspend strike on Thursday. The mandate of our members is very clear. So, we will wait and see what the Monday and Thursday meetings unfold and then we report back to our members.”

On how long it would take ASUU leaders to convene a meeting with its members after the meeting with government on Thursday, the ASUU boss said “we are in constant consultation with our members, we don’t really have problems with that.

“After the meeting, we will decide when to link up with our members depending upon what is placed on table on Thursday.”

Commenting on the speculation that the union might suspend the strike if the government met up to 50 per cent of the agreement, Faggae said the union would prefer to get to the bridge before crossing it.

He commended the positive disposition of the Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee on Education towards the resolution of the crisis.

Fagge added: “For us, the interaction we have had with the Joint Committee clearly indicates that they are concerned like other Nigerians”.

“This is expected of the representatives of people. You see the problem has always been that the executive arm of government does not really hearken to advise that are given on how best to address the problems on education in this country.

“We are convinced as a union that the only thing the government can really do for Nigerians is to avail them of education.

“Once you are able to do that, you will see that people will be able to generate jobs and they will be able to take care of themselves and contribute to nation building. So that is the argument we are placing on the table.
